In March 2024, China Mobile Shanghai and Huawei completed the construction of China's first smart parking underground parking network at Taikoo Li Qiantan in Pudong New Area. The parking lot is fully covered by a new multi-point digital room sub-base station, which can provide 5G-A network coverage for more than 70,000 square meters of underground space. The 5G-A parking lot can provide more than 500Mbps uplink capacity, and the 5G-A network can also achieve downlink ultra-gigabit speeds, and the vehicle OTA version can be upgraded in as little as 30 seconds. At the same time, the new 5G-A digital indoor base station can achieve meter-level positioning through software upgrades.
In April 2024, the northern section of the Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railway in Shijiazhuang took the lead in deploying the 5G-A (5G-Advanced) network, realizing the continuous coverage of 16 kilometers of the 5G-A network in the railway section, and realizing the large-scale deployment of 5G-A technology in high-speed rail scenarios for the first time in the country.
By the end of 2024, Shaanxi Telecom will achieve large-scale deployment of 5G-A 3CC carrier aggregation capabilities in 10 cities in Shaanxi Province, continuous coverage of RedCap capabilities in urban areas throughout the province, deployment of low-altitude synaesthesia capabilities at any time on demand, and full commercial use of new calls.
In September 2024, Jiangsu Cable and Jiangsu Mobile completed the deployment of 5G-A 3CC co-construction and sharing network in Suzhou Metro, becoming the first metro 5G-A co-construction and sharing network pilot in China.
In December 2024, China Mobile Guangdong, together with CITIC Mobile, completed China's first 5G-A low-altitude cultural tourism scene synaesthesia integrated networking test at the Qingyuan Lotte Tour (Yingde) Hot Air Balloon Camp, promoting the upgrade of low-altitude flight experience and safety digital intelligence.
